Synopsis:
The movie starts off with a flashback to 1999. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) Meets Maya Hansen (Rebecca Hall) and Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) at a New Years Eve party. He plans to meet up with Aldrich at the top of the roof of the building they are in but never shows up; instead he meets with Maya whom is growing a plat that can apparently regenerate its parts.
Flash-forward to present day, we see Tony Stark working on his Iron Man suits not being able to sleep because of what happened with the Avengers in New York. At Stark Industries Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) meets with Aldrich- who is no longer a cripple as opposed to the New Years Eve party back in ’99 when he was crippled. He shows he new DNA altering technology but she rejects it.
Shortly thereafter “The Mandarin”  -who in reality is just an actor and the real person behind the madness is Aldrich- responsible for a bombing in front of a theater, which lands Tony Starks’ friend Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) in the hospital.
Tony Stark swears to avenge his friend’s accident and challenges The Mandarin by giving him his home address. Maya shows up at Tony’s house right before it is attacked with helicopters and missiles. Tony Stark/Iron Man is presumed dead.

He was able to escape the attack and teams up with Harley played by Ty Simpkins
who helps him trace the Mandarin back to Miami. When he reaches Miami, Maya captures Tony (she had been working with Aldrich) and tries to get him to help perfect the new DNA. Aldrich kills Maya, no longer needing her.
Aldrich steals the Armor of the “Iron Patriot” in order to get aboard the Air Force One and kill the president in order to make the Vice President a “puppet leader". He takes the president hostage and leaves the other passengers free falling to their death, that is, until Iron Man saves them.

There is a huge battle in which Stark along with Colonel James Rhodes (Don Cheadle), Pepper and all his suits are able to kill Aldrich and rescue The President

At the end of the movie every Iron Man suit is destroyed and Tony Stark throws his chest arc reactor into the sea by his destroyed house after having undergone surgery in order to remove the shrapnel in his heart.

Comments:

This movie has to be my favorite Iron Man movie that has been made thus far.  The cinematography was truly extraordinary and the effects all seemed so real. At the end of the film, when it seems that Iron Man will be no more, there is a great voice over narrative by Tony Stark saying that Iron Man will forever live in him despite the fact that he got rid of the suits. With A star actors, one can agree on the fact that there was not a lack of good acting. Each actor in the film, gave a believable performance that, at times, left me tearing up due to the situations occurring in the film. All in all, this movie was excellent and I definitely recommend it to someone that has not seen it.
